The Summer Fun Challenge - Day 4: We Like It HOT, HOT, HOT!

I honestly didn't know what to do for this day.   I decided a fire-looking gradient, with a flame and sun would work for me.  I was happy about the accent nails, but the gradient didn't turn out like I planned.  I thought it was thinner than it was, but it had more coverage than I realized, so the gradient is not very visible.

I used china glaze electrify, and did more towards the tips to give it a 'gradient' look.  I used wet n wild french white creme for the white base, ulta sun-sational for the red and orly striper in fiery red, with wet n wild black creme.

Ombre Nails!

Okay I'm pretty sure this is an ombre manicure.  All I know is that I love it!  I saw something online about mixing white polish into a darker color to create the ombre effect easily, so I tried it out.  I used Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Hopeless Romantic for the main color.  I used one coat on my pinky.  Then I mixed in varying amounts of white polish to make the color lighter, then painted it on.  I seriously love this look.  It is so cute and very simple.

The first two are more of what it looks like, but the second two show the difference in color better.  This is so much fun! I love it!

Summer Fun Challenge Day 3: Pool Party!

I love pool parties!  I was so excited to do these nails, I think I came up with some good ideas.  I had volleyball, sunglassses, a bikini, beach ball, sunblock, bug spray and tiki torches.  I used wet n wild french white creme for the base, and added the designs in a variety of colors.  I LOVED this mani, it is one of my favorites I've done.  The volleyball scene is my favorite, I've never done a design on multiple fingers before, but I loved how it turned out.

Summer Fun Challenge Day 2: Summer Lovin'

I wanted to do a manicure using nicole by opi have a heart for awhile, but I couldn't find the polish for the longest time.  I recently found it, and summer lovin' was the perfect opportunity to use it.  I used two coats of essence object of desire, and then two coats of fishing for hearts to get three or four on each nail.  I used jordana calcium boost basecoat and seche vite.  On its own object of desire is a very pretty color, perfect for a summer night.

Summer Fun Challenge Day 1: Grill Master

Today is the first day of the challenge, and the one I had no ideas for.  I decided to do "grilled chicken" for this day.  I wasn't too excited for this one, but I have lots of good ideas for the other days.  To start, I used two coats of essie Topless and Barefoot over a coat of essie grow faster base coat.  This is a really pretty color, but I had to 'grill' the chicken haha. I then used a striping brush to paint on wet n wild black creme in a grill like pattern, but it was a little messy and not very clean.

This didn't come out too bad, but I didn't like the results very much.  I'm excited for the next day which is summer lovin'.

Check out who else is doing the challenge below!

Sally Hansen Loves Me Not

When I first saw this polish,  I knew I wanted it.  I saw it, but then decided I didn't want it that much.  Then I saw it on sale, so I decided to buy it.  It did not disappoint.  It is a dark black with purple in it.  It is so pretty!

This is from the complete salon manicure line, which I love.  I used two coats of Sally Hansen Loves Me Not, no base or top coat because they are included in the polish.  It only needed one coat, but I used two anyway to make it darker.

OPI DS Sapphire

Wow!  This is such a gorgeous color.  I was at my grandmas house and wanted to fix my nails, and this color did not disappoint.  This color is pretty, but in the sun it shines.  It's a pretty shade of light blue that appears almost silvery.  Everything about this color is just awesome.

This is three coats of OPI DS Sapphire, with a base coat of OPI Nail Envy.

Revlon Coastal Surf

This is the first color I've used from the colorstay collection, and I must say I really enjoyed it.  It lasted very well at my work, it still peeled off easily, but there were hardly any chips after a 6 hour shift where I did dishes.  It was much easier to apply and had a much better formula than the normal revlon polishes, which is very nice.  I love this color, it is very nice for the warm summer months ahead.

I used essie grow faster, two coats of coastal surf, and seche vite for this.

Graduation Day Nails!

Yesterday I graduated high school  :) YAY!  Of course I wanted to do something cute and school spirit-y for my nails.  I had so much fun with this design and even more fun at graduation.

Our school colors are blue and white, with yellow as the accent color.  I'm not a big fan of yellow, so I tried to use it as little as possible.  Vets is the name of the school, and we are the hurricanes, which I drew on the ring finger.  2012 for the year of graduation, and a swirly design just because.

The ring finger is a diploma, and the pinky is a heart. The 2012 and striped design were because I ran out of ideas and don't have the best motor skills with my left hand.

I used essie grow faster for a base coat, sinful colors snow me white, ulta blue streak and ulta sun-sational for the designs, and seche vite for a top coat.

Sally Hansen Rose-a-go-go

This is a lovely spring color.  Its from the Insta-dri collection, and it is such an unexpected color for me to like.  I normally like brighter colors, but sometimes I really like softer colors like this pale pink.  The fact that this dries quickly was only another pro for me.  Sometimes I think neutral colors don't look as good, but I think this one does work with my skin tone.

I used Sally Hansen complete care 4-in-1 treatment as a base and top coat, and two coats of Sally Hansen Rose-a-go-go.

OPI Just Spotted the Lizard

I've been so busy lately, schools ending and I've been working a lot more than I usually do.  I only have one and a half days of school left, then I graduate!  I do have a cool idea for my nails that day though.  Anyway, this is a awesome color.  It's from the spider man collection, and it ROCKS!  The color shifts from green to gold and back, and it looks really cool on your nails.

For this I used OPI natural nails base coat, two coats of OPI Just Spotted the Lizard, and OPI top coat.
